First third of FFOC regular season complete!
September 29th, 2009 | by admin |Week 3 of the NFL season did not produce the fireworks that the first two weeks did. Drew Brees, Frank Gore, Chris Johnson, and Andre Johnson came back to earth somewhat, and so did the over scores in the Open Championship. For the 3rd week in a row, The Open has a new leader in the race to become fantasy football’s next millionaire. The new player with the target on his back is Steve Schilpp of Vancouver, WA. His Surgically Enhanced TD’s did not have the highest week 3 production of the championship, but the 109.96 points as a result of solid weeks from LeSean McCoy, Steve Smith (NYG), Jay Cutler, and Dallas Clark allowed Steve to maintain a strong 152.41 to start the season.
Another item worthy of mention is the first appearance of Chad Schroeder and his Cocktails and Dreams franchise at 7th overall. Chad managed to qualify TWO of the final 15 teams that made it to Vegas last year, with one of them taking home 2nd overall. It wouldn’t surprise me to see at least one of Chad’s teams on the first page of the standings for the next few weeks.
Also want to take a quick second to recognize the current leader of the Missouri Open, which drafted LIVE at Pujols 5 restaurant in St.Louis on August 29. There are still 13 weeks to go, but if the contest ended today the first Missouri Open would go to an out of state competitor! George Reeves of South Carolina has his TeamReeves squad at the top of the standings with a score of 128.03.
I’ll be back tomorrow to post all of the results of my week 3 play in FFOC SnapDraft.

Stan Misthios is the founder of the Fantasy Football Open Championship. He is an avid player himself, but does not compete in The Open due to the obvious conflict of interest – which he sees as a huge PLUS for The Open’s thousands of other competitors because like most fantasy footballers, Stan assumes that he would win the Ivory Jacket every year. A loyal fan of the Silver and Black, Stan’s fantasy team in his home league is called the Just Win Babies, and the team’s logo is a picture of Al Davis shaking hands with the dark lord himself, Darth Vader.

Stan, is there some way to log on to your account from a mobile blackberry device? I cannot get the option to pull up on it anymore when I click on leagues or draft tab it did before when sign up wasn’t closed but now I cannot do that. Any suggestions or can a link to login be added to the message board page?
